Ave Maria for 3-part upper choir a cappella (SSA)

(SW1055)

In this short work, the composer carries out the well-known text polyphonically in a kind of modern motet style, whereby the vertical frictions who occasionally arise due to the strict linearity are able to clearly increase the tension in the course. The dramaturgical culmination point is traditionally reached with the word “Jesus”, composed in coloratura.

It is also remarkable how the three-part movement takes into account the crystalline sound of the pure upper choir without male voices; a wonderful contribution to the repertoire for upper choir, which is quantitatively quite underrepresented in comparison to the repertoire for mixed choir. In addition to professional use, the short work can also be mastered by good amateur choirs, such as boys', girls' or women's choirs.
