The "Wanderlied der Prager Studenten", an early original composition for male chorus on lyrics by Eichendorff, still bears clear signs of an individual and unmistakable compositional handwriting of the 20-year-old Ridil, despite the still largely romantic style. Especially in the careful, yet remarkably original text implementation. Among other things, the idea with the text passage to be psalmodized in the middle section is particularly appealing.
The composition from the youth period was, as well as some sister works, again completely revised by the composer in 2017.
