(SW1001)
In this 18-minute organ piece, both technically and musically demanding, the composer draws on the ancient form of the chorale partita. This classical musical form is however filled with completely modern content. The old passion chorale, which is the Partita underlying is dramatically inserted so that the story of the suffering and death of Christ that leads to human happiness, is written out dramatically. An almost jazz-like drive is produced by subtle rhythmic overlays and metric syncopations, especially in the middle part. This is impressive for the audience s well by itself as in the overall context.
