5 modern and finely formed folk song movements for male choir, which are especially pleasing due to their sophisticated text performance, are framed or combined by instrumental pre-, post- and interludes for 2 trumpets and 2 trombones. The instrumental parts introduce the choirs, connecting them with each other, guiding them over or inside. On the one hand, this creates charming contrasts, but on the other hand, it connects the individual choirs to a real, small cycle, similar to the song play of the 19th century. Nevertheless, the composer is free to omit the instrumental parts as well.
